But First, let me take a Selfie!

Ahh the selfie, a few years ago the term did not even exist and now its a staple in our vocabulary.  A friend of mine posted about what she will see on her Facebook status a few years from now and it got me thinking.  I went back a few years back and saw very few pictures of myself.  I remember not allowing people to post pictures of me unless I reviewed and approved them because they had to be the right angle and the best pose to hide my fat.  I would take a lot of face only shots from an angle and there were about 10 pictures taken before I can get the one that made me look the thinnest

There were almost no full body pictures because I was ashamed of my body so I missed so many shots with my family due to my insecurity.

How sad is it that my lifestyle then dictated even what pictures I took, very sad.  However, I now look at my Facebook and Instagram and they are full of selfies, posing in all different ways (perhaps too many).  I want to document every moment now with a picture, every workout, every accomplishment because I am no longer ashamed of what I look like.  I lOVE the person I see in pictures, I love the person that I have become and I'm not afraid to say it.

The moral of the story is: What will you see in your Facebook Status a few years from now, how many invitations have you refused because you are ashamed people will see you? how many opportunities to play with your kids have you lost because of your weight? Don't waste another selfie opportunity, start today!
