I began tracking my food again in an effort to lose the last 35 lbs. that I need to lose and I found that I was consuming way too much fat and although I consume healthy fats it is still fat nevertheless. Learning is never ending. I encourage you all to keep a food diary because it helps keep you accountable and it teaches you about portion control and just how a “little” piece of something can actually affect your caloric intake.
Knowledge is power and knowing how to eat and what to eat is very crucial to the success of my healthy eating journey. The more I learn about the effects of food on my body the more powerful I am because I can make better choices for myself.
There are times when I want to have that little piece of...whatever, cake, candy, chocolate and then I input it into the app and then I realize that I can have an entire meal for the amount of macronutrients the "little" piece has. One mistake I would often make was to come home and cook hungry, so naturally, I would pick while I cooked and yes it was just little pieces but by the time I was done I would consume a-lot-of-calories! That little piece can break your progress and all the hard work you do.
Remember, its really not "just a little piece" so go, get going start logging in your food, go!
