Sneakers Can Make or Break Your Run

When I first began to run I used a pair of sneakers that I had in my closet for about a year, barely used, they were the New Balance shown on the top of the picture.  I then graduated to a pair of Nikes and they worked out just fine for me, I ran my first 5K in them.

I began to do "research" about sneakers because I would hear my runner friends discuss their sneakers and I read that a minimalist shoe was best for running.  A minimalist shoe is one that has a very thin sole allowing you to run as close to the ground as possible.  I went searching for one and found a pair of Sketchers that I though would do the job but they were horrible.

I found that a minimalist shoe simply did not work for me, so I was back to the drawing board.  I purchased two more pairs after that and then came across a pair of Saucony's which were horrible the first few times I ran in them but once I broke them in they were great.  The jury is still out for my last pair of Asic Gel Noosa's since I have not done enough running in them to determine weather they will work for me or not but I will let you know if they do.

The reason why I'm sharing this with you is because I recommend that yo do your research if you are interested in running, you may just get lucky and love the very first pair you get or you will just have a collection of the ones that did not work for you.  The good thing for me is that I go to the gym for strength training so I get to use them all anyway.

So the moral of the story is do your own research and always buy them 1/2 size bigger than your normal size.  Remember, fitness is not one size fits all, it is whatever size fits YOU! Running with the right pair of running shoes is very important in making your running experience a success.

Happy running!
