Everyone has challenges in life, some smaller than others but challenges nevertheless. Mine for the moment is not being able to exercise due to my accident. This is a big challenge for me considering how far I have come in my journey, how motivated and ready to really transform this 40 year old body I was.
On Sunday I sat on the couch and watched movies all day, ate horribly and felt disgusted with myself so I went for a walk. I did a lot of thinking and realized that I had given up for the past 3 weeks because I cannot workout. I saw this as the end of my road and my mind was now convinced that I will gain my weight back and it is impossible to keep the weight off without exercising.
I then began to see the bigger picture and I was reminded of people who have gone through situations that are much more serious than mine and have come out of them triumphantly and stronger than ever. I then made the decision not to allow this bump on the road to deter me from what I was meant to do and from helping others by providing inspiration.
There are many challenges that will seem impossible to overcome no matter how big or small they are but perseverance and a positive attitude will get you where you need to go. As my coach always says, “stop listening to that voice in your mind that tells you that you can’t”
